With the Anchovy monthly box we send a selection of anchovies from the artisanal canneries we work with in the Basque Country and Cantabria. The ones inspiring recipes, the ones that have simply wowed us, and new discoveries too — Anchovy monthly box subscribers will be at the front of the queue for those. Each box will arrive wrapped in our custom packaging.

More about Cantabrian anchovies:

•The Cantabrian Sea's weather patterns, currents and water temperatures - the merroir - are partly why the flavour and texture of the Cantabrian anchovy is world-renowned.

•Anchovies in the Cantabrian Sea grow to a good size because the choppy water there is oxygenated and strong currents drive deeper, nutrient-dense waters to the surface, supporting plankton growth which the anchovies feed on. 

•The Cantabrian Sea’s turbulent waters also mean that he anchovies have to be strong swimmers, and this, along with the coldness of the water, helps firm their flesh enough to stand up well to the salt-curing. Furthermore, the anchovies are submerged in barrels filled with brine for 1 to 2 hours when they reach the cannery to also firm the flesh.

*In spring, when Cantabrian anchovies are fished, the anchovies' fatty reserves are at their peak, ready for summer when they spawn. The higher fat content assists the long curing and development of flavour.

•The first parcel is sent on the day we receive your order. After that, on the same day every month you will receive the next parcel.

•If you wish, you can change next month's dispatch day. To do this, log into your subscription account and select a different date.

•This product is excluded from delivery outside the UK. However, the International Box is available to customers overseas.

•The tins contain the allergens fish or molluscs and in limited instances contain other allergens such as mustard, sulphites and gluten. Please visit the More Information section of the pages for individual tins to find detailed information about allergens, ingredients and nutrition.

The subscription renews automatically and you will be charged each month, once every six months or once each year, depending on your subscription package.

Yes you can. Subscriptions paid monthly can be cancelled after three months. Subscriptions paid every six months can be cancelled after month six. Yearly subscriptions can be cancelled after month twelve.

You can always skip one delivery or pause the subscription. Log into your account to pause the subscription or skip a parcel.
