Piquillo peppers

Espinaler’s piquillo peppers are roasted over a direct flame which gives them their sweet and smoky taste. They are true piquillo peppers because they hail from Lodosa, a small town on the banks of the river Ebro in the Navarre region of northern Spain. The town is part of the piquillo pepper’s protected designation of origin. Known as Navarre’s red gold, we recommend trying them on a slice of toasted bread with cream cheese and anchovy, or with a tapa of boiled potatoes, mustard-y mayo and mackerel fillets.
